“ ANDwe are very committed to finding a solution [to resolve the conflict], and President Trump is also. Steve Witkoff, special envoy from the President, and so am I. From what we have seen and heard, the [Ukrainian] President Volodymyr Zelensky is very committed, and President Vladimir Putin, too, said Kushner by video at the ‘European Yalta Strategy’ conference held in the Ukrainian capital, according to statements collected by the Russian agency TASS.

The US President's son-in-law stressed the importance of taking advantage of the opportune moment to conclude negotiations after drawing up a peace plan, warning that the success of the agreement will require the commitment of both parties.

“ It is necessary to carry out a detailed consultation with the parties, define what the agreement will be like and then generate or find the necessary momentum”, he said.

Without revealing details about the state of the negotiations, which seem to be at a standstill, Kushner warned that the lack of harmony can lead to the failure of the process: “If you worked with both parties, but you did not generate the impulse, then you do not find the opportunity and you cannot do it,” he said.

Still, Washington’s special envoy was optimistic about the future and proposed to “find the proper formula that, luckily, works for everyone and allows for progress” after more than four years of conflict.

Kushner and Witkoff visited Moscow on the 5th, where they were welcomed by Putin. The next day, they met Zelenski in Kiev. In addition, Russian presidential adviser Yuri Ushakov stated that Putin and Trump maintained a telephone conversation on the 8th.

The hypothesis of Putin and Zelensky meeting on the margins of the G20 summit in Miami in December, suggested by the Ukrainian President, was totally excluded this Saturday by Moscow. “It is impossible,” under the terms of the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, in statements in New Delhi on the margins of the BRICS summit.

Peskov also reiterated Moscow's demand for such a meeting to take place in the Russian capital, after having previously revealed to the Russian state news agency The decision to move Vladimir Putin to Miami had not yet been taken.

“ We still don’t know if we’re going to Miami,” Peskov said.
