Athe Ukrainian Armed Forces held in October a record number of 31,398 logistics and evacuation missions with unmanned land vehicles (drones), today announced the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“ In October 2026, Ukraine’s Defence Forces units held a record number of 31,398 logistical and evacuation missions using unmanned land vehicles,” the Ministry said in a statement.

According to the Ukrainian authorities, this is the highest monthly value since the launch of the ePoints military programme to encourage the use of unmanned systems in operations to combat Russian forces.

Created in August 2024, the program allows military units to accumulate points for operations performed with terrestrial drones.

These points may subsequently be used to acquire new unmanned, land or air systems as well as electronic war equipment.

The number of missions registered in October represents that this strand increased four times compared to January this year when unmanned land vehicles participated in 7,511 operations.

Development shows, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, the increasing importance of these technologies in military operations, particularly in the most dangerous areas of the front line.

Unmanned land vehicles are used to transport ammunition, food and water to military positions, and also to remove wounded soldiers from areas exposed to enemy fire.

According to the Ukrainian authorities, the use of these equipment reduces the need to send military personnel to logistical missions and evacuation in high-risk areas.

“ Unmanned land vehicles are a technology that helps minimize the risks to people in the front of the fight,” the Ministry of Defense said.

Ukraine has been investing in the use of unmanned systems in its military operations, both in recognition and attack and in logistical support for the units fighting the Russian invasion.

The Russian military offensive in Ukrainian territory, launched on 24 February 2022, plunged Europe into what is considered the most serious security crisis since World War II (1939–1945).

The attacks have been intensifying in recent months on both sides of the front, making an increasing number of civilian victims, and negotiations between the two sides are at a standstill.
