O President of Ukraine today conditioned the end of the attacks on Russian refineries, demanded by the United States, on Moscow's decision to cease attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
“Ukraine will be willing to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries if Russia fails to reach our energy infrastructure,” said Volodymyr Zelensky, quoted by the French agency AFP.
Zelensky, harshly criticized by President Donald Trump because of the attacks on the Russian refineries, said that “any measure of unescalation must be reciprocal and accompanied by concrete guarantees.”.
The Ukrainian leader's statement follows Trump's suggestion for Ukraine to change its president because he considers Zelensky does not want to make a peace agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump demanded Zelensky to stop the attacks on the Russian refineries and blamed Ukraine for the rising price of diesel, which affects the United States, where mid-term elections will take place in November.
The US President negotiated with Putin on Friday an agreement for the supply of Russian diesel to the United States and international markets.
