A edition of the Tremor festival of 2027 will take place from 16 to 20 March, on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores, and are already known the names of Acid Mothers Temple, Horse Lords and Dora Morelenbaum.

The event also includes the presence of Femme Falafel, Edredon Sensible and Choir of the Island Women.

According to the organization of the event, the 2027 poster reveals a program that “passes through different geographies and languages, from Japanese to jazz, from electronic experimentation to new expressions of Brazilian music, through rock, dance cultures and Azorean community creation”.

According to a synopsis of the artists, Acid Mothers Temple is a collective founded by Kawabata Makoto in 1995, whose discography is built “from improvisation and a permanent exploration of the possibilities of cosmic rock, experimental folk and noise”.

Ak’chamel is, in turn, a project from Texas that combines desert psychedelia, ritual folk and post-apocalyptic shamanic aesthetics.

The American Horse Lords are a Baltimore quartet that crosses instrumental rock, minimalism, microtone polyrhythms and tuning, while the French Edredon Sensible feature a formation of two saxophones and two batteries.

The Finnish Muoviopussi emerge with electronic experimentation in a trio that combines rap, fragmented pop, metal and a punk attitude.

The Brazilian Dora Morelenbaum, which moves between the Brazilian song of an intimate and contemporary pop, is another presence.

Luso-Angelana Gisela Mabel, who promotes dialogue between different musical traditions, brings classical formation and jazz with African and Brazilian rhythms.

In the national presences are: Femme Falafel, ‘alter ego’ by Raquel Pimpão, crossing hip-hop, jazz, disco, house and MPB with a writing “marked by absurdity, irony and a biting look at the little dramas of everyday life”.

Escarnio “makes the urge of punk spirit rock a vehicle to express the anger, vulnerability and experiences experienced by women, with abrasive guitars, incisive choruses and lyrics without concessions”.

The intensity of the guitars is extended in the Travo, quartet of Braga and Porto that brings the psychedelic rock closer to the garage, the prog and the aggressiveness of thrash metal.

Ghettão brings together DJ Nigga Fox, DJ Danifox and DJ Firmeza in a collective exploration of the relationships between afro-deep-house polyrhythmic, kuduro and jazz minimalism.

From Mexico, Rosa Pistola prolongs this exploration of dance cultures, reinventing the underground reggaeton through links to the guaracha, Mexican tribal, cumbia, funk and dembow.

There is also room for the Choir of the Island Women project, which promotes the “connection between music, identity and community”.

It is a project created under Ponta Delgada 2026 – Portuguese Capital of Culture, under the musical and artistic direction of Vânia Couto. Gathering women from different generations, the choir brings the Portuguese musical tradition closer to Azorean identity and contemporary female experiences, transforming collective singing into a space of creation and community affirmation.
