Vin there a “gradual invasion of polar air masses” that will cause a gradual drop in temperature until the next 5 november, thursday.
“ As of today, day 2, the gradual invasion of polar air masses from the interior of the European continent, transported in the circulation of a relatively intense anticyclone located on the British islands, which extends in crest to the Azores archipelago, will take place on Monday.
The organism explained that “the hot weather episode, which gave rise to above average temperatures for the time of year, and to contribute to Heat Wave in much of the IPMA seasons, will cease, with a gradual drop of temperature until day 5”.
As of November 3, Tuesday, the maximum temperature values in the general territory “should vary approximately between 17 and 22 °C, except in the Alentejo, interior of the Algarve and Tagus valley”. In these regions, temperatures “should exceed these values by about 1 to 3 °C, being lower in the transmontane northeast and Beira Alta, where they should vary between 12 and 16 °C”.
Also the minimum temperature will drop, with values between 5 and 9 °C, which will be “slightly higher on the coast south of Cabo Carvoeiro, and lower in the interior North and Center, between -2 and 4 °C, and may reach lower values in some places”.
The IPMA also stated that “we can still form frost in some places in the North and Center countryside”.
