O autumn equinox marks the moment when, because the trajectory of the Sun crosses the line of Ecuador, day and night have exactly the same duration. This date has a special energy... know how to use it!
Widely revered and respected by ancient civilizations, today the autumn equinox goes unnoticed by many people who are unaware of its importance and significance. However, this moment marks an important energy shift and, for this reason, it is beneficial to align with this energy.
In its origins, the autumn equinox celebrated the harvest, for it coincides with the end of summer and with the moment when the last fruits are ready to be harvested to prepare the winter.
In older monuments, such as the Great Pyramid of Egypt or the Giant Pyramids of Mexico, allusions to this ephemeral were found, represented as a passage into a period of darkness. For these wise civilizations, the importance and role that darkness plays for spiritual transformation was recognized. In the autumn equinox, the shadow comes up in our daily lives: from that date, the nights grow, becoming longer and longer until the winter solstice. That means our collecting time is increasing. If light invites us to expansion, darkness reminds us that in nature all movements obey a dynamic of opposites, and that, in order for us to reach the light, we must, at the right time, face the shadows without fear.
It is time to respect and appreciate the shadow – because it is also necessary for growth.
Do something that means something to you, alone or the people you love the most. Just as ancient people did, mark this date. Reverencing nature by paying due homage reminds the universe that we are in tune with it.
Enjoy the autumn equinox to:
1 – Make a list of gratitude
The autumn equinox is a harvest period. Make a list of everything you're grateful for, of everything you've ever reaped and continue to reap in your life.
2 – Putting your house in order
Restore the harmony of your home by cleaning it thoroughly and creating empty spaces, undoing what you no longer use, purifying the atmosphere with incense and essential oils.
3 – Use decorations made with elements of Nature
One of the simplest ways to take the energy of nature into your home is to make one or two decorative elements with leaves, branches, plants, stones and other elements you collected during a walk.
4 – Start something new
Equinoxes and solstices are conducive to new beginnings because, as they are associated with cosmic turns, they favor new impulses. Once autumn invites us to spend more time indoors, take the opportunity to develop a new project.
5 – Visiting a farm
Recognizing what Nature provides helps us to have a greater understanding of the purpose of our lives.
6 – Preparing autumn meals
Use the fruits and products of the time in your meals, by honoring the fruits of the harvests you will be tuning your energy with that of the Universe.
7 – Meditate
Practice an activity that helps you focus at the present time, such as Yoga or Meditation. You can also walk or play an individual sport, doing some kind of moving meditation.
8 – Set routines
Because it is so deeply linked to balance, the autumn equinox is the ideal time to adjust and define routines. So that you can do everything you want to do, get a steady pace of work and organize your time well.
