A Saudi Arabia has suffered in recent days increasing attacks of the hutis, who control much of neighbor Yemen and fight Yemeni government forces, supported by the Riyadh-led coalition.

Strong explosions echoed in the Saudi capital during the night, after warning messages sent to people by the authorities, according to reports of journalists from the French news agency AFP.

Yemen's hutis had already claimed today the authorship of missile attacks on military targets in Saudi Arabia's capital city and port city and important oil center in Yanbu, on the Red Sea.

In a television statement, the rebel group’s military spokesman, Yahya Sahara, stated that in counter- “sensitive targets” in the Saudi capital and facilities of Saudi oil Aramco, in Yanbu, was used “a large number” of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones.

According to Sara, both operations have been the response of the Hutis to the multiple Saudi military operations in Yemen in recent weeks, which claim to have caused civilian deaths.

The Hutis spokesperson warned that they will respond to the “Saudi military escalate” with more military actions, “block by blockade and climbing”.

Saudi Arabia issued on Friday night for today warnings of risk of attacks on the capital for the first time since the resumption of hostilities with Yemen's Hutis, supported by Iran, followed by strong explosions heard in the city.

The warnings in Riyadh were the first in the Saudi capital since the latest escalation with the Hutis. No casualties or damage were reported after the alerts were lifted.

The exchange of attacks between the two sides takes place in a context of resumption of land fighting between the Hutis, supported by Iran, and the internationally recognized Yemeni government, which has Riyadh as its main supporter.

The Hutis currently control the entire Yemeni coast of the Red Sea, reinforcing their position on the narrow strategic of Bab el-Mandeb, one of the main maritime routes between Europe and Asia through the Suez Canal.
