Um man, 48, was arrested red-handed on Tuesday, September 15, in Cascavel, Paraná, accused of chasing a 12-year-old girl.
According to G1, the girl returned alone from a catechesis class when she realized she was being followed.
Civil Police reports that the suspect tried to draw the victim’s attention several times during the course, calling her “daughter” and saying “wait a minute.”.
The girl acted quickly in her defense, looking for shelter in a restaurant, a place from which she called her mother.
The family triggered the police, who tracked down and arrested the suspect shortly after.
During the interrogation, the suspect denied the charges that were made to him and claimed, in his defense, that he was on the phone with the bride the moment the girl passed by.
However, the police were suspicious of his theory, since in describing the phone he was using, the man cast different characteristics of the phone he had in his possession. Faced with this, he presented a nervous and confused behavior.
The suspect was arrested and accused of a major persecution crime, i.e. under specific aggravating circumstances, for committing the crime against a minor and female person.
