A annual variation rate of the Consumer Price Index (CIP) was 0.8%, less 0.3 percentage points than in the previous month.

The underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding energy and unprocessed food) showed an annual change of 0.8% (less than 0.1 percentage points compared to July 2026).

Banco de Cabo Verde (BCV) indicated in May that prices should grow more than expected this year, raising the inflation estimate from 1.7% to 2.7%.

The prospects deteriorated with “the worsening of geopolitical tensions”, including the conflict in the Middle East, he said.
