O spanish Carlos Alcaraz won the 28th career title today, mastering Australian tennis player Alex de Minaur in the Vienna final, ATP500 tournament in which he did not lose any set.

Number three worldwide and second serial head of the Austrian tournament, ‘Carlitos’ vulgarized the 10th ranked ATP ranking, defeated by the partials of 6-1 and 6-4 in an hour and 28 minutes.

The 23-year-old Spanish proved to be back at his best, after the right wrist injury that kept him four and a half months away from the competition and made him lose Roland Garros and Wimbledon, adding the 28th title of his career and the second in a month's time, after the conquest in Tokyo.

“ We knew that I had to start the meeting very focused and go increasing my speed, my rhythm”, detailed Alcaraz in court, showing himself “very happy” for having found the formula to play “very well”.

De Minaur has prolonged his ‘catastrophic’ performance against the ‘great’ of current tennis, adding the seventh defeat in so many other encounters against Spanish – with Jannik Sinner the record is even worse (13-0).

The Australian lost for the third time in a finale this season, in which he erected the trophy only in Rotterdam.
