Marks of other geographies, particularly China or the American Tesla, are best known for selling mainly or exclusively electric cars. But european Alpine is betting heavily and more than 80 percent of the vehicles sold by June are of this type.
Belonging to the Renault Group, it has a strong electrification strategy and, in the first half of the year, sold 8,538 cars worldwide – which is a new record.
AND much is due to the hot hatch A290 – a fully electric model that grew almost 60 percent compared to the same period of 2025 with 5.890 units marketed – well over half of all Alpine sales.
1,041 copies sold from the latest model – fastback A390, which is also totally electric. The “mix” is completed by 1,607 units of A110, the coupe that was the only combustion model in the supply. However, its production ended in June, before the arrival of the third generation that will be electric.
Created in 1955 by Jean Rédélé, Alpine has always been known for its sports cars. It would be bought by Renault in 1973 and, after being withdrawn in 1995, it returned in 2017. Already in 2024, Alpine began to reposition itself as an electric mark, when the A290 was introduced. The A390 crossover followed this year, while the new generation A110 coupe will complete a range with only electric models.
