O influencer Numeiro was cleared in the inquiry for hate speech against women. The Public Prosecutor’s decision was the subject of the criminal chronicle of TVI’s “Two at 10” program, and prompted discussion between presenters and commentators.
Suzana Garcia, attorney, went into disagreement with host Claudio Ramos. The lawyer, despite making it clear that she does not agree or support the influencer's opinion, considered the decision of the prosecutor correct and normal. The prosecutor in question argued that Numeiro’s views on abortion and women are “polemic” and “possibly unpleasant”, but they are not a crime and that the influencer is protected by freedom of expression.
“ So you don't see that subway subject, what's her name? The box of glasses. A girl who always wears shirts up here, who then became very successful,” said Suzana Garcia, referring to humorist Joana Marques.
“ You're talking about Joana Marques, who is a friend of mine, don't say that”, immediately replied Claudio Ramos.
“Oh, are you offended? Look, it is freedom of expression ", explained Suzana Garcia, who wanted to use as an example the process that the musicians Angels put to the humorist to identify cases in which freedom of expression prevents a conviction.
“ I am offended because, that is, we are offending a person for free ", insisted Claudio Ramos.
“Ofender? But isn't she small? ", contrary to the lawyer.
“Let’s not get into this discussion, Suzana. Because if I arrive somewhere and they tell me I have a commentator with excess weight or fat, I will always get ahead and defend her”, said Claudio Ramos.
“This is different, Claudius. I appreciate your defense but let me tell you something: I have been sitting here and had to defend this subject [Joana Marques]”, added Suzana Garcia, remembering the Angels case.
