“Compact with genocide”? Popcorn and David Cristina react to controversy
Unlike names like Iês Aires Pereira, Onion Mol, Pedro Torchas, Carolina Deslandes, Barbara Tinoco and TatankaAna Garcia Martins and David Cristina will not cancel their participation in the festival from October 29 to November 1, in Lisbon.
The humorist came to be criticized and accused of “compacting with genocide”, but refused any kind of political position only because he kept his presence at the festival.
“ It was better explained to me that the problem is that Jerry Seinfeld is head of the festival and that, having him pro-Israel opinions, I, acting in the same festival as him, would also have them. [...] I don't usually get other people's for sharing posters in a humorous entertainment theme event“, he said.
“ I don’t see it in his opinions, but his notes are for the comedy show and not for a geopolitical lecture.”, pointed out.
