The amount of public works contracts promoted by the end of July decreased by 28% from the same period of 2025 to EUR 4,935 million, the Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries (AICCOPN) reported today.

“ Athus, in monthly terms there are signs of recovery, with July recording the best performance of the year, contributing to mitigate, although without inverting the accumulated break ", indicates the latest Barometer of Public Works of AICCOPN.
As regards the number of procedures, 3,477 public tenders were promoted in the first seven months of 2026, less 31% than in the same period of the previous year.
As regards the volume of contracts concluded exclusively by public tender and reported on the Base Portal, it totalled EUR 1,871 million, with an annual contraction of 34%.
On the other hand, contracts concluded through direct adjustment and prior consultation “have maintained a favorable development”, with a annual growth of 20% and reaching a sum of EUR 449 million.
Overall, in the first seven months of the year, the amount of public works contracts concluded and reported at Portal Base until August 15 amounted to 2,547 million euros, translating a annual decrease of 28%.
