Na note released today, the company states that its program has as its theme “Mobility for All – Justice between Generations” and it aims to “promote a more sustainable, integrated and accessible mobility and bring customers closer to projects that are transforming the network”.

A visit to the works of the future Circular Line is scheduled for 20 September, “providing the public the opportunity to get to know closely one of the main projects of expansion of the network”.

According to the note of the Lisbon Metro, two visits are planned at 11:00 and 4:00, starting at the Estrela shipyard. The route includes the future Estrela station, the walkway through the tunnel to the future Santos station and ends in the new west atrium of the Cais do Sodré station.

As visits will be accompanied by Metro professionals, since the participants, who will have to register, will be able to “know the main engineering solutions adopted, follow the evolution of the work and understand the characteristics and benefits of the future model of exploration of the Circular Line”.

The program also includes the “No Metro” campaign, each generation combines in its own way”, designed and developed by the Metropolitan of Lisbon, with the support of Lisbon’s Metropolitan Transport, which, through five stories starring people from different generations, shows how “the metro combines with the walk, the bicycle, the train, the boat and the bus on the daily journeys”.

Through this initiative, the company intends to show that mobility needs change throughout life and that the combination of metro with other public transport and active modes “allows to build more flexible and appropriate routes for each person, while contributing to reducing dependence on individual transport and promoting a more sustainable city”.

The Lisbon Metropolitan currently operates on four lines and has 52 stations.
