Dakota Johnson is unrecognizable in his new role in fiction. The 36-year-old artist will play the iconic Hollywood actress Marilyn Monroe, in which she will be one of the most important roles of her career.
The daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson will play the lead in the 1959 film "The Hotter The Better", a new short film written and performed by Maggie Gyllenhaal.
This project, titled “Flesh Impact”, is due to premiere at the Venice Film Festival next September, in honor of Marilyn’s centenary, which would have turned 100 on June 1. The actress was born in Los Angeles in 1926.
Dakota shares the role with 93-year-old actress Ellen Burstyn, who will play an older version of Hollywood's star.
Ellen has won an Oscar and is known for her roles in films such as “The Exorcist”, “Life Is Not a Dream”, “Interstellar” and “The Age of Adaline”.
Maggie Gyllenhaal gave an interview to Vanity Fair where she spoke about the project: “I find her interpretation so fascinating, strange, intense and full of joy, at the same time it is deeply disturbing. I wondered what would have happened if she'd been 60 years old to herself. What could be different in the work she would do now?”, he explained.
Marilyn Monroe died at the age of 36 on August 5, 1962.
