Dezens of thousands of people gathered tonight in the center of Tel Aviv to demand a change in the next legislatures in Israel, in an event that featured the presence of Gadi Eisenkot, favorite polls.
In addition to the former head of the armed forces and leader of the Yashar! center-right party, the leading leaders of other opposition forces of the so-called shift bloc also attended the demonstration in the Hosts square, including Naphtali Bennett and Yair Lapid, of the Together coalition, Avigdor Lieberman, of the Israel Party is Our House, and Yair Golan, of the Democratic centre alliance.
The demonstration was organized in the Hostage Square by the October Council, a movement that brings together families of the victims of the attacks of the Islamist Hamas group in 2023, and that calls for an independent inquiry committee on the bloodiest day in Israel's history, so far rejected by the Prime Minister and leader of the Likud party, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Among a crowded crowd holding Israel’s flags and slogans such as “save democracy”, concentration also became a political movement to support the bloc of change in the legislatives of October 27.
On arrival at the site, Gadi Eisenkot was greeted with greetings to the “next Prime Minister”, although, according to the polls, neither his party nor the main opposition groups will achieve a majority of 61 seats to control the Knesset (parliament), unless they group the two competing Arab forces.
The coalition Democrats promoted another expressive demonstration tonight at Yitzhak Rabin Square in the centre of Tel Aviv, which then joined the October Council demonstration in the Hosts Square.
