A david Foster's daughter, Sara Foster, spoke about her father's marriage to former American Idol participant Katharine McPhee.
By participating in the program “Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari”, on Tuesday, June 30, Sara, of years, shared her opinion about her father’s relationship.
“She’s really amazing,” she said, confessing that being part of her famous family “is not easy.”.
Sara Foster also acknowledged that David Foster and Katharine McPhee have “received many criticisms” because of the age difference. Remember that the actor is 75 and Katharine is 42.
“ Everyone has an opinion about something. And you know what? They have been together for some 12 years and are happy”, said Sara, adding after the stepmother “is not a child bride”. “She’s over 40.”
Still speaking of Katharine, Sara shared that she realizes how difficult it is to assume the role of stepmother. “You need to find a balance between wanting your partner’s children to like you and wanting to be a mother figure. But you also have to respect the birth mother. I think it is a difficult balance, and I think it does it very well ", commented.
Asked by presenter Kristin Cavallari if it was possible Katharine McPhee to “care for herself as a mother”, Sara Foster replied: “I’m older than her.”
“ I see her as a sister, but also as my stepmother. She's my father's wife. So, I think it's normal for her to come in and take control in certain situations, but she doesn't do that,” she added.
David Foster, to remember, met Katharine McPhee in 2006, on the American Idol program. At the time, Katharine was one of the contestants while the actor was one of the guest coaches. However, rumors about the novel did not begin to circulate until 2017. The relationship was confirmed the following year, when they debuted as a couple on the red treadmill of the Met Gala.
In 2019, David Foster and Katharine McPhee tied the knot. In fact, on June 28th they celebrated precisely seven years of marriage. Together they are the parents of a boy, Rennie, who was born in February 2021.
