A Girl No, Clan, Tó Trips, Scúru Fitchádu and Glockenwise are among the artists and bands participating in “Eyes of Mongol xx”, album of versions of Linda Martini’s debut album, to be edited in December.
According to the band’s agency, in a statement released today, for “Eyes of Mongol xx”, which arrives 20 years after the original “Eyes of Mongolian”, the Linda Martini invited “artists who in various ways have always been and are in the band’s career, whether by artistic affinity, to share stages, to share moments of road or other moments in artistic careers”.
The nine themes of the Linda Martini debut album now win new versions, in charge of To Trips (“I feel my head falling”), MAQUINA. (“Chronophagus”), Glockenwise (“Give me your best knife”), The Girl Not (“Going to Stay”), Boogarins (“Study”), Scúru Fitchádu (“Love Is There No Police”), Surma (“Room 210”), Clan (“Fight Love”) and Calcutta (“Severa”).
The album, which will have vinyl and digital editions, arrives on December 4.
The celebrations of the 20 years of “Eyes of Mongolian” also include two “special” concerts in Lisbon and Porto in November.
The Linda Martini feature the full live debut album on November 6 at the Colosseum of Recreios, in Lisbon, at the Super Bock Festival in Stock, and on November 11 at the Colosseum Box, the Colosseum of Porto, integrated into the SON Estrella Galicia cycle.
The Linda Martini appeared in 2003, rehearsing at Black Sheep studios in Lisbon, and working on the songs until they were edited in an EP, homonymous, in 2005, first of a discography that put them in punk rock and post-rock in Portuguese.
The debut album, “Eyes of Mongolian”, arrived in 2006. Following were “Casa Occupada” (2010), “Turbo Lento” (2013), “Sirumba” (2016), “Linda Martini” (2018) and “ERROR” (2022).
The most recent, "Passa-Montanhas", was edited in January 2025 and is the first album recorded by the Linda Martini since the departure of Pedro Geraldes and the subsequent entry of Rui Carvalho (Son of the Mother).
Pedro Geraldes left the band in February 2022, just before the “Error” edition. At that time he was replaced by Rui Carvalho, initially taking into account only the album's presentation tour.
