Everyone expected a big party... but the wedding was as discreet as possible
The civil and private ceremony took place in Cascais and the guests were only the five children of the couple: Cristiano Ronaldo Junior, Eva, Mateo, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.
It was known that the marriage would take place after World War 2026 and in the press it was speculated that the great party could happen, for example, on August 1 at Quinta da Regaleira, in Sintra.
Rumors also pointed to last Saturday in Madeira. The Sun even published that the couple had reserved two floors of the Hotel Savoy Palace to welcome guests and a crowd went to the Sé do Funchal to see closely the wedding... that had other bride and grooms.
Although the expectation is of a great party, the truth is Ronaldo had already said that the bride did not like this whole apparatus. In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan in November 2025, CR7 clarified:
“ Do we have a date? Not yet. We planned to do it after the World Cup [2026], with the trophy.. Where? We didn't plan this because she doesn't like big parties. He likes things more private. Therefore, I will respect your decisions”, guaranteed the portuguese international.
Simplicity from beginning to end, even in alliances
The discretion was transversal in Gio and Ronaldo's marriage. The couple chose simple gold rings that contrasted with the huge engagement ring the model received a year ago.
According to Hola! magazine, the ring that CR7 chose for the model has an oval diamond, about two centimeters long, between 40 and 45 carats and has two triangular diamonds on its side. Refers to the magazine, citing the jeweler Iñaki Torres, that the main stone may cost about five million euros, although it can reach 10 or 12 million, depending on the purity of the diamond (this value already includes side diamonds).

The two met in 2016 when the model worked as sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid. The two began to leave, which aroused the attention of colleagues, as this told in the Netflix documentary “I Am Georgina”. “My colleagues arrived by bus and I got out of a Bugatti.
