Rthis weekend (15 and 16 august) the london Formula Award And. The British capital serves as a stage for end of season with a double round starting with several pilots candidate for the title – including António Félix da Costa. The circuit is at the ExCeL London.
Jaguar Portuguese is in sixth place 33 points from the leader, Jake Dennis (Andretti/Porsche) After a season of ups and downs, in which two victories stand out, felix da Costa's accounts are not easy – there are 33 points of difference when there are only 58 in dispute.
The three favorites
There are three pilots who leave in better position in the fight for the World: Dennis, who commands Mitch Evans (Jaguar) and Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche). The trio is separated by only five points. Not long ago, in fourth, follows last year's champion – Oliver Rowland (Nissan), 14 points from the top.
Edoardo Mortara (Mahindra) closes the top five in front of António Félix da Costa. Mathematically, also Nick Cassidy (Citroën), Nico Müller (Porsche) and Nyck de Vries (Mahindra) have a chance to overcome the leader. However, the title odds are very small given the number of opponents they have to recover (many) points from.
“ As long as I have possibilities, I will not leave the dream”
In a statement, António Félix da Costa pointed to the podium and, although he may have to help his teammate, he will not fail to have the title in mind as long as possible: “For this weekend, the goals are clear and go through maximum attack, try to get on the podium in both races, but knowing I might have to help team and Mitch be champion. However I reinforce that as long as you have mathematical possibilities to be champion, i won't let go of the dream, so let us go with everything, to attack and then it will be reckoned in the end!".
In a sort of season swing just before the end, Luso only regrets the many tests he did not score, being very pleased with his performance: “Regardless of the outcome you may have, I feel that it was my best times at the level of progress and performance. It’s a shame the six races that I’ve been at zero, many of them for situations beyond my control.”.
