ANDmrs. Heming Willis, the wife of actor Bruce Willis, spoke again about one of the most complicated moments of her life alongside her husband.
The artist's illness continues to advance, and Emma recognizes that living with frontal temporal dementia is, for the whole family, a process of much pain, but also of love and union.
In an interview with Hello! magazine, the 50-year-old actress spoke about something particularly difficult to explain: mourning for a person who remains present. “We are constantly in a state of mourning,” she explained when talking about how she and her daughters face the advancement of this condition.
The woman of the protagonist of “Assault to the Skyscraper” states that the situation is “extremely difficult and painful”, although she made a point of stressing that Bruce remains very present in the life of the family. “We all want our loved ones to be healthy, full of life and to remain who they have always been. But frontal temporal dementia is a devastating disease that takes things away from the person you are very slowly”, he explained.
“What our daughters live and witness at home every day is a masterful lesson of pure love,” he said, explaining that girls accompany the “true meaning of loyalty, devotion and unconditional love” when they see the support that the actor receives from everyone.
Despite the illness, Emma Heming wanted to leave a message of hope. The actor's wife believes that there is too negative a view of dementia and explains: “The idea that dementia is a relentless and absolute misery every minute of the day is a total myth. We have many moments of everyday life that we still find funny and, fortunately, we keep laughing”, he said.
It is recalled that Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontal temporal dementia in 2022 and has been away from the profession ever since. From the marriage to Emma, the couple is the father of Mabel Ray, 13 and Evelyn Penn, 10.
