“ A Feira do Livro do Porto returned to fulfill what is its natural vocation: to be a great reunion of the city with books, with reading, with authors and with artistic manifestations around the word ", said the councilman.

A total of 144 publishers, booksellers and alfarrabists were present (more 13 than last year) and more than 200 initiatives took place over “more than 400 hours of programming”.

“231,000 people passed through the gardens of the Crystal Palace, making this the second most participated edition ever. It is felt that we could have gone further in public matters, if not the days of time that forced to condition and close the event ", said Jorge Sobrado.

According to the mayor, the two days “most competitive ever” since the Book Fair returned to the gardens of the Crystal Palace were recorded this year on the first two Saturdays of this edition.

In a note published on its website, the municipality advanced that “only in the first two days (21 and 22 August), the FLP received about 41,000 visitors – an increase in the order of 20%, compared to the same period of 2025”, a number that slowed down with the two days of heavy rains and winds that forced the closure of exhibitors and outside areas on Monday (24 August) and the postponement of its opening on Wednesday (26 August)”.

“ Nevertheless, the recovery was quick and categorical, with Saturday (August 29) to become the most competitive day of the event since it settled in the Gardens of the Crystal Palace ", also indicated the municipality.

The 13th Port Book Fair took place from 21 August to 6 September and honored the poet Inês Lourenço.

This edition featured international presences, such as that of Palestinian poet and journalist Mohammed El-Kurd and French-Morocco poet and artist Rim Battal, with daily concerts, children's sessions, conversations, exhibitions, theatre sessions, among others.
