O We can, who elected 27 Members, be the seventh largest force in the House of Representatives and the fifth political formation to declare its support for the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro in the second round of presidential elections, scheduled for the 25th.

The announcement was made in Brasilia by the president of Podemos, the federal deputy Renata Abreu, from São Paulo, who in the first round was invited by Flávio to be his “vice”, but refused the invitation after his party opted for neutrality.

“Brazil wants change, Brazilians want to dream about Brazil again. The entrepreneur wants to invest again. The problems are real and far from the promises that have been happening,” he said.

With the support of Podemos, Flávio Bolsonaro has the accession of large parties of center and right in his campaign, which already has support from the Union Brazil, Progressive Party (PP), Republicans and NEW.

With the exception of NEW, the other parties that decided to support Flavius form the so-called “Centrão”, informal group of parties without defined ideological basis, which forms the basis of governments in exchange for positions and political influence.

Union Brazil, PP and Republicans came to protect ministries in the Lula government, which gave in positions in exchange for governability.

Upon receiving the support, Flávio has reiterated, in his speeches, the importance of having a majority in Congress to make changes to the Constitution, such as reforming the Judiciary system to “redemocratize” the country and end the re-election of the President.

Behind Flávio Bolsonaro with 2.2 million votes in the first round, Lula so far did not get support from any presidential candidate and not from another big party, such as PSD and MDB, which remain neutral.

In recent days, the candidate of the Workers' Party (PT, Lula) stayed in Brasilia and had a series of meetings with elected candidates and their campaign coordination, to change the strategy for the second round.

Lula put PTs from the Northeast, a region where he has the highest approval, to coordinate his campaign, after publicly declaring that this was the “less organized” campaign he has seen since 1989 and showing himself frustrated with the result of last Sunday.

In recent days, PTs asked Lula to participate less of the first lady, Rosângela da Silva, “Janja”, in the campaign and to give space and role to the vice president, Geraldo Alckimin, who has already ruled São Paulo, the most populous state in Brazil, four times.

The objective is to remember the figure of Alckmin, after the alliance made in 2022, since the vice president, who has been for more than 30 years of the PSDB, a right-wing party, has less rejection among industrialists, entrepreneurs and more conservative part of society.

In search of the 33 million voters who did not vote in the first round, Lula has appealed to militancy and left-wing influencers to convince people to come to the polls on October 25, date of the second round.

“ Here's our motto: For the working people, protection. For the bandit, the prison. This is our motto from now on”, said on Wednesday, in a firmer stance on the subject of public security, a subject that mobilizes the conservative public and politicians of the population.

The PT and Lula also bet on the vote on the Proposal for Amendment of the Constitution (PEC) of reducing the working day (for five days/week), scheduled for the week, to try to wear out the PL and Flavio in front of the voters.

Although the PL is contrary to the proposal advocated by the Lula Government, the Brazilian President has provoked the opponent to know how he will vote. Flavio, in turn, has given vague statements to the press on the subject.

Flavio explains that he wants to “change the Constitution to redemocratize” Brazil

Presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro today clarified what he meant by “changing the Constitution” to “redemocratize” Brazil, stating that he referred to the end of re-election, reduction of age for criminal purposes and reform of the Judicial system.
