A young man was arrested after stealing objects from a taxi that, upon the arrival of the authorities, had broken glass. The suspect threw himself into the water of the river Pavia to escape, but was caught.

Um young 27 years was arrested, early on Thursday, after having stolen several objects from the interior of a taxi that had the broken front glass, in the Travessa Captain Man Ribeiro, in Viseu.
The arrest took place at 1:15 p.m., following a complaint that reported “suspecting movements with a car”.
“ Upon arriving at the scene, the police verified the existence of a vehicle attached to the taxi service, with the front glass already broken. In the course of the investigations carried out in the vicinity, a suspect was located who, upon being approached, pushed one of the policemen and put himself on the run, immediately being moved acquitted persecution”, detailed the Public Security Police (PSP), in a statement.
To try to escape, the individual threw himself into the water of the river Pavia, but ended up in detention.
The authorities have managed to recover the goods they have withdrawn, namely two mobile phones, a suitcase with documentation and money.
After receiving medical assistance at the Hospital de São Teotónio in Viseu, the young man was taken to the detention rooms of the District Command and was subject to biweekly presentations at the precinct of his residence area.
