O urgent debate, in the Assembly of the Republic, requested by the parliamentary group of the PS on “Cost of Life” started with José Luís Carneiro to accuse the Government of AD of being “insensitive” to the Portuguese who live on the “limit of possibilities”
“ A family with two median wages, of EUR 1,040 each, with two dependent children, is exempt from IRS, means that it does not benefit from the support adopted by the government. Like this family, we have two million workers all over the country. They are families, children and young people who live at the limit of their possibilities and to whom the Government shows total insensitivity”, threw the socialist leader.
But Carneiro did not stop here and gave more examples of Portuguese who are not covered by the support of the Executive announced yesterday, Thursday, September 17, by the Prime Minister, Louis Montenegro.
“ For an elderly person, who has a pension of 650 euros, the increase will be in the order of 18 euros per month, that is, it will not cover the price of the able food and, much less, of the fuel, gas and income of the house ", shot, remembering that "the companies also have reason to fear the future".
