O Lula da Silva Government today promised a relief to the sector of events, such as bars, restaurants and showhouses, after Flávio Bolsonaro promised to resume a program that helped the sector during the pandemic.
In practice, the Palácio do Planalto will send to the National Congress a bill to forgive tax debts of small companies in the event sector.
On another front, these companies may also access a credit line with reduced interest and subsidized to be offered by the National Bank of Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
The announcement, made today by the government team and the campaign of President Lula da Silva, without prediction of when in fact the bill will be sent to Congress, takes place a few days from the second round of presidential elections, which will be decided next Sunday.
The measure was also announced three days after PT's opponent, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, from PL, made campaign promise to the sector.
Flávio announced, in an elected case, that he will resume a program of tax deductions, extinguished in April 2025, which helped the sectors of events and parties impacted by Covid-19.
Created in 2022, the so-called “Perse” (Emergency Resumption Program of the Event Sector) had an impact of more than 50 billion reais, about EUR 8.87 billion in the current exchange, until its closure.
