Ua 42-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto by the Judicial Police (PJ), following the fulfillment of a house search warrant, in the municipality of Ferreira do Zêzere, for being strongly indicted by the authorship of the crime of child pornography. Had “more than seven thousand files relating to images and videos of child sexual abuse”.
In notified published on Thursday, October 22, the PJ stresses that “the research began in november 2025, following the detection on the internet of file sharing containing images and videos of sexual abuse of minors”.
The steps taken over the past few months have allowed “identify and locate the suspect, indicted as responsible for sharing those contents”.
In the “sequence of the household search carried out at his residence, they became found and seized various computer equipment, namely computers, hard drives and mobile phones, and “the preliminary analysis of the devices allowed to identify more than seven thousand files related to images and videos of sexual abuse of children, some of young age, this number may increase with the deepening of the expert analysis of the seized equipment ", explains also the Judicial Police in the same note.
The suspect, is also stressed, “lived with a companion and two stepchildren, one of them smaller”. It met with “pena de prison, suspended in its execution, precisely by the practice of identical crimes in 2022“.
At the first judicial interrogation at the Santarém Judicial Court, it was applied the coercion measure of preventive detention.
The investigation is already ongoing with a view to the full clearance of the facts.
