Nin recent years we have seen several people linked to the area of culture to show concern with the spread of Artificial Intelligence, with Spotify and Apple Music to implement systems that will allow us to detect the use of this technology in music creation.
On the other hand, rapper, producer and entrepreneur Dr. Dre shows little concern about the impact of these tools and says in an interview with The New York Times who does not see Artificial Intelligence “as a threat.”.
“ I think the only people who view [artificial intelligence] as a threat are those who have difficulty creating it.”, said Dr. Dre. “A few days ago I had an argument with some people. They were against Artificial Intelligence and I said, ‘Okay, it looks like you would be the kind of person who would show up against the rhythm boxes or the synthesizers with them came up, right?’ It's a new tool for creativity. Some people are afraid to learn new things”.
The producer said he's been using artificial intelligence to create music “as a tool to realize what she would do with what i just did”. Partner Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine, also participated in the interview and, at this point, added that another producer who is experimenting with creating music with Artificial Intelligence is Timbaland, “another brilliant producer”.
Apple Music will identify use of AI in music
Spotify recently announced that, starting next month, it will start identifying artists who create music using Artificial Intelligence tools and, according to Variety magazine, Apple intends to follow this same strategy with its Apple Music.
Says the publication that Apple is working on a new label called “Made With AI” for artists to adopt case “a substantial part of the content” have been created using generative artificial intelligence.
However, there is no forecast for this new label to be released on Apple Music. Remember, however, that this is not Apple's first move for streaming service users to know which songs were created with Artificial Intelligence.
No start of the year, Apple created an identification system for songs generated with Artificial Intelligence, but at the time criticisms were pointed out to the company because the system depends that the record companies have this initiative.
