The president of the House of Battle (district of Leiria), André Sousa, who was on site, reported that the two buildings of the manor had at this time “any use”, although “one of them was being rehabilitated”, belonging to private.
The manor dates back to the first half of the 18th century (concluded around 1744), having welcomed the future king D. Joseph and the infant D. Peter in 1744, as inscribed on the main portal.
The public institute Cultural Heritage states that the set of two buildings is classified as Real Estate of Public Interest, having belonged to the families Salles Zuquet and Oliveira Simões, and to Commendador Joaquim Salles Simões Career Junior.
The Cultural Heritage also informs that the Solar was the target of a “campaign of works, already in the twentieth century, which divided in two the house of housing, dating back to this time the opening of the North portal and their access staircase”.
“ Already in 1941 the attached chapel was built, of small dimensions, and the agricultural facilities were adapted and converted into dwellings ", adds the note, by observing that the Quinta worked as Housing Tourism, "still organizing a whole set of varied events".
The building had a social function, with the creation of a kindergarten known as “Girl Cilinha” (Maria Hercília Salles D’Oliveira Zuquet), said André Sousa.
