Iran today marks the 47th anniversary of the taking of the United States Embassy in Tehran with marches across the country, in a climate of fear of a new military confrontation and with an indispensable protagonist: Donald Trump.

“ Mwe will tie Trump”, could be read on numerous posters displayed in front of the former US embassy in Tehran, occupied by students on November 4, 1979 and currently transformed into a museum, called “Spy Nest”, dedicated to hostility between the two countries.
According to the Spanish news agency EFE, other posters showed a bullet crossing the blonde fringe of the US President, while others represented him behind bars or chained.
In some images, it appeared characterized as a pig, also numerous caricatures that ridiculed him.
All this is in the midst of the usual songs of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel”, echoing in Iran since the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
There are also numerous images of the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatola Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not yet appeared in public since his appointment in March following the assassination of his predecessor and father, Ali Khamenei.
On today's posters in Tehran, an AK-47 rifle appeared with a challenging expression.
The seizure of the United States embassy and the capture of 52 diplomats as hostages for 444 days triggered tension between the two countries that reached their highest point since the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran on 28 February.
Today, many inhabitants of Tehran fear that attacks against their country will be resumed, while the defeat of Republicans in Tuesday's U.S. mid-term elections, which caused Trump to lose control of the two chambers of Congress, is viewed as an Iranian victory.
“ The fact that Trump was humiliated with defeat in the elections is a victory for our people,” said EFE Masume, a 34-year-old housewife who participated in the demonstration in the capital.
The woman considered it likely that the United States would resume attacks on Iranian territory “in the coming days or weeks,” but ensured that it did not fear a new offensive.
“ I believe that the only way is to continue to resist with a firm position, until the enemy realizes that he achieves nothing with his arrogant attitude ", said.
Tuesday, the United States first attacked Iranian territory in two months, in an action considered “limited,” an episode Tehran did not recognize.
Some Iranian authorities also celebrated the defeat of Republicans in midterm elections, considering it a “no to war” against their country.
“ Whether it was a conscience or a cost of living, the Americans said no to the war and we support that message,” wrote on social network X the President of Parliament and principal Iranian negotiator, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf.
In the last week, Iran and the United States have intensified indirect negotiations, with Qatar's mediation, to find a way out of the war, but so far they have failed to reach an agreement.
Also on Tuesday, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, stated that the US response to the Iranian proposal to end the war “was not convincing” and demanded that he address “in a full and explicit manner the seven conditions presented by Iran.
These conditions include the end of the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, the thawing of Iranian assets in third countries, the lifting of oil sanctions and the end of the blockade imposed by the United States on Iranian ports and ships, among others.
Supporters of the Islamic Republic believe that the negotiations will lead nowhere, because they believe Trump will resume the attacks and many ensure he is not concerned.
“ I consider a new confrontation very likely, but I am sure we will be victorious,” he told EFE during the demonstration in Tehran, Reza, a 53-year-old trader. “I’m not worried at all,” he assured.
