“ I think everything has already been said by our captain, everything has already been said by our national selector, everything has already been said even by the Portuguese Football Federation. Of course, our captain Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the fundamental pieces to achieve this,” Pedro Proença told journalists, on the margins of signing a cooperation protocol between the Portuguese Football Federation, Funchal City Council and the Madeira Football Association.
“Certainly Ronaldo is able to return. This has already been demonstrated by his own intention in the letter he wrote, it has already been said by the national selector, the Portuguese Football Federation has also given its opinion and, therefore, what I have said is that now is the moment of tranquility, to sit at the table and to find the good solutions ", finished the maximum leader of FPF.
Punishment yet to be known
At the same time as the situation of impasse in the relationship between Jorge Jesus and Cristiano Ronaldo is still to be seen the punishment that will be applied to the player of 41 years.
The FPF Discipline Board confirmed, more than a week ago, the establishment of a disciplinary procedure, decreed the preventive suspension of CR7, but neither the “urgent nature of the process” led to a rapid decision that is yet to be heard.
Still, and according to the regulations, Cristiano Ronaldo risks a suspension of one to six months, as well as a fine. However, the penalty may be halved, since Al Nassr's player admitted in a statement that he was wrong to abandon his teammates, apologizing for what happened.
