Another penalty, of EUR 2,550, concerns the “obstruction of emergency routes”, and a third, of EUR 1,938, the fact that the first part of the match began “with four minutes delay due to the pyrotechnic and light show, the responsibility” of the national champions in title. But there's more.
The direction led by André Villas-Boas will also have to disburse 1,910 euros due to the “use of explosive and pyrotechnic devices” by the fans, and 670 euros via the song “The League is me***”, by these chanted. The most ‘light’ sanction, ciphered at 51 euros, derives from the yellow card displayed by Sérgio Guelho to Chris Smalling, just at 15 minutes.
On the other side of the ‘barricade’, the viriates were sentenced to pay three fines of 21 euros each, due to the cards displayed to Gustavo Costa, Soufiane Messegem and João Guilherme, at 39, 64 and 90+5 minutes, respectively.
What about the other League Cup games?
From the League Cup, two fines were issued, worth 51 euros each, to Benfica, due to the yellow cards shown by José Bessa to João Palhinha and Fredrik Aursnes, at 67 and 77 minutes, respectively, of the score applied to Gil Vicente, for 4-1. The minhotos, on the other hand, were condemned to pay 29 euros due to the expulsion of Antonio Espigares, for reaching Rafa Silva “with his arm in the face, cancelling a clear chance of goal”.
Finally, the Famalicão, which went to the Braga Municipal Stadium to eliminate Sporting Braga, in the tie for major penalties, will have to pay 58 euros, following the yellow cards shown by João Gonçalves to Georgios Koutsias and Gabriel Cabral. As for the ‘invoice’ of the arsenalists, it amounts to 204 euros, fruit of the cards of Gustaf Lagerbielke, Sergio Barcia, Pau Victor and Flinto Costa.
