Kin Kardashian was compensated for a euro by the Paris court after the armed robbery in a hotel room in 2016 during the Paris Fashion Week. At the time, the celebrity was stolen at about six million dollars in jewelry, and most of it failed to recover.
The information was confirmed to Associated Press by an attorney involved in the case, this Tuesday, September 15, having explained that the amount of compensation was requested by Kim Kardashian herself.
Simone Harouche – a childhood friend of the celebrity and who was downstairs at Hôtel de Pourtalès when the robbery happened – received the same amount, also at her request, as the AP also informed.
“ We thank the French judiciary for recognizing us as victims of the terrible events that took place in Paris in 2016,” reacted Kim Kardashian and Simone Harouche through a joint communiqué sent to People.
“ This experience was deeply traumatic and its impact remains on us. Today's decision is not about compensation, but about accountability and recognition. We thank the Court and all those who have supported us in this process and now we hope to move forward”, they added.
It is also known that the court also granted $126,472 to a former hotel retainer, who said he was traumatized by the incident, according to the AP, who also cites the lawyer. The hotel has already received $57,741.
