As automatic speed boxes have become increasingly common sacrificing the typical hand levers (although there are also automatic solutions with manual control via flyer sideburns).

AND this happens in all kinds of cars – including supercars and hypercars, which favor more enthusiastic driving experiences. Like Lamborghini's. However, for the famous Italian Taurine manufacturer, manual boxes are part of the past - at least for now.

That's what Stephan Winkelman, executive director of Lamborghini, told CarBuzz that is a type of concept “especially for collectible cars” and the builder leading “has no plans to do so“. He also said that “it is not on the list of priorities”, when there is much to be worked on.

Statements that echo Federico Foschini gave to Motor Trend on the launch of the new exclusive Revuelto SV hybrid plug-in: “It would be interesting, but if you want to explore the potential of this [hybrid plug-in] technology, you have to have this kind of gearbox strategy. If you want to have a niche product, of course there's room for this. But the main goal must be what we are developing because otherwise we will not be able to exploit the full potential, all kinds of interaction that a car like this needs to have.”.

As far as the person responsible is concerned, a manual transmission to “is an opportunity”. But, discard this kind of Lamborghini account solution in the coming days and justified: “This is the way we have to interpret our technology. And, of course, we need to make a decision and sometimes we need to give priority. And for us, this is the priority now.”.

There are other manufacturers who keep the traditional manual box in some of their models – if it is simulated, as is the case of Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale with Manuale-by-Wire technology with a lever and clutch pedal that recreate the typical experience faithfully without having a mechanical connection to the transmission.

The last Lamborghini manual box belongs to Gallardo who quit in 2014 after a decade in production.
