Longevity: Habits that make a difference

1- Practice physical exercise

If you want to live longer, physical exercise is something you should always keep in mind. One study revealed that regular exercises help increase your life by two to four years. Another study states that only 15 minutes daily can increase life expectancy by three years.

2- Dietary

Food also makes all the difference when talking about longevity. Another study shows that the Mediterranean diet can help bring more years of life. In the case of this investigation, the people who followed her consistently had lived up to the age of 90.

3- Consistent and quality sleep

Prioritizing sleep and quality of rest may be related to improved health and life expectancy. A study showed that those who slept better could live another five years. On the other hand, poor sleep quality may be related or other causes of death.

4- Social links

Some studies indicate that the lack of social connections can increase the risk of death by at least 50%. On the other hand, spending more time with people can help reduce stress, improve mood and help live longer.

5- Challenge the brain

Keeping an active mind is as important as physical exercise, as some studies show. Defying the brain with pastimes and challenges for memory or even learning a new language can reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.

6- Attention to daily stress

Controlling stress levels throughout the day can increase your life years. A study conducted in Finland showed that stress can reduce a person’s life expectancy by almost three years.

7- Maintain a healthy weight

Like maintaining a healthy weight, not smoking and limiting alcohol consumption, all of this can help to increase longevity. Weight gain in middle age ends up reducing life expectancy by up to five years, according to a study.
