O Abanca had profits of €579.1 million in the first nine months of the year, minus 13.6% than in the same period of 2025, today announced the Spanish bank, which is present in Portugal.
The bank attributes this decrease to the increase in the effective tax rate, caused by the lower use of tax credits.
Thus, the results by September before the tax payment were 764.5 million euros, more 2.4% than in the same months of 2025.
In Portugal, the pre-tax result in the first nine months of the year was EUR 99 million, plus EUR 19.5%, according to a statement from Abanca.
The bank revealed that in Portugal turnover reached EUR 21,260 million at the end of September, more than 4% than a year earlier, and that it increased the number of customers by around 19,000 in the same period.
Still in Portugal, the value of the net credit granted to customers increased by 4.3% to EUR 9,022 million, according to the same statement.
Overall, of the entire Abanca group, the gross margin (which reflects all revenues) grew by 3.7% in the first nine months of the year.
Turnover reached EUR 142,859 million (more 6.4% than in the same period of 2025).
