A critical occurs in the midst of an internal crisis of the Workers' Party (PT), after the result of the polls last Sunday reveal that Lula is 2.2 million votes behind Flavio Bolsonaro, the PL, which caught left-wing supporters and governing base.

"I think we have campaigned below my range. I think we could have done more”, said in Brasilia, during a meeting with young congressmen from PT and with a strong role in social networks.

Upon turning to the national president of PT, Edinho Silva, and coordinator of his campaign completed: "This is the least organized campaign I have participated in since 1989. And we usually reap what we plant”.

"I sincerely wondered if I won the elections in the first round. More serious still does not end in the first place”, he added.

“What does that make me believe? That we will win the election for President of the Republic. If we have done what we have to do, there is no way to lose the election to the setback that means our opponent", he concluded.

Lula has already held seven presidential elections: 1989, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2022 and 2026, being defeated in the first three, and every time he won, was in the second, leaving in front of his opponents in the first round.

Still at the event, the President charged a left-wing unit in Brazil by saying that all parties in the progressive field could unite in one.

“ There will be a day when the left will be in one party. It's a matter of maturity and time. Often, we do not have programmatic divergence, have sustainability of the position of those who are and do not want to leave ", completed.

The PT also commented that he was criticized by his allies and by the first lady, Rosângela da Silva, Janja, for not making selfies on social networks, and now felt convinced to use digital media better, including the young public.

Lula also asked young supporters and parliamentarians to use their audiences on social networks, contact networks in their parishes and also go to the streets to convince people about the importance of reducing working hours (end of scale 6×1), currently discussed in the Brazilian Senate.

“ I want to know how [the senator and candidate] Flávio Bolsonaro will vote, as the PL will vote [in the Senate]”, provoked.

He also cited the achievements of the Brazilian Government in the area of public safety that should be explored as a campaign speech and thus turn vote and convince voters, since the Bolosnarists have strong engagement in the theme.

“Our motto is as follows. For the working people, protection. For the bandit, the prison. That is our motto from now on," he said.
