“From tomorrow [Wednesday] we deliver the results to the Journal of the Republic that the names of the candidates are published. The total is 12,877 ", said, in a press conference, Assistant Commissioner José Soares.
The chairman of the jury also explained that the list was approved for publication by the Ministry of the Interior after completion of the review of the documents.
The Assistant Commissioner stressed that the secretariat is strictly following the principles set out in the ministerial diploma, namely merit, transparency, accountability and credibility.
José Soares clarified that after the publication of the list in the Jornal da República, candidates have five days to submit complaints, if they find any error or irregularity.
After five days, cultural proof will be initiated in each municipality of the country, which will be carried out through an electronic system.
“ The use of this system aims to ensure correct and reliable results, eliminating human interventions and reducing the possibility of errors. Thus, a few minutes after the completion of the examination, the candidates will be able to know the results immediately”, added the chairman of the jury.
In March, the young people who applied for the contest held protests in Dili demanding the total cancellation of the competition due to concerns about transparency. The government finally agreed and decided to cancel the process completely, opening a new competition, with 400 vacancies, which included a new jury, with participants from Portugal and Australia.
