Mais of 50 police officers intervention were at 06:45 concentrated Rua do Amparo, between Rossio and Praça da Figueira, in Lisbon, where were more than a hundred protesters, holding a popular assembly.
Rossio Square is closed to traffic, where there are over 20 Public Security Police (PSP) vehicles and seven ambulances.
Municipal cleaning staff with their own vehicles are removing the tents and posters that are still mounted in the center of Rossio Square, where there are no more protesters, who have moved to Figueira Square.
In Praça da Figueira, whose accesses are conditioned by the police, protesters hold a popular assembly without decisions being made.
The demonstrators continue with the slogans in favour of the right to housing.
The PSP Intervention Corps intervened this morning to remove the tents that remained in D. Pedro IV Square in Rossio, having arrested some protesters who allegedly resisted.
According to images transmitted by televisions, just before 06:00, the PSP gave an ultimatum to the present, demanding the end of the Camp, in an operation launched simultaneously with another against the camp in Porto.
The protesters first formed a human cordon to delay the intervention of the PSP, but the Intervention Corps advanced against the group and held several arrests, with some activists accusing police officers of aggression.
Several people were arrested and identified, meeting some sitting on the floor in Rossio Square, where since Saturday the concentration took place.
The Camp of Lisbon, with the motto “Can’t you? Then set up your tent!”, I had decided at dawn to maintain the protest against living conditions and the crisis in the housing, although the police “solicited the way out to avoid a coercive retreat.”.
Through a megaphone message to the hundreds of people who remain in Praça D. Pedro IV, in Rossio, the spokesman for the communication of the Camp of Lisbon, Ana Luíza, transmitted a contact made with the Public Security Police (PSP) by midnight, in which “the exit was requested to avoid a coercive retreat, saying that it could happen at any time, but without an appointment.
