Segundo sources of the Barcelona Urban Guard, about 45,000 people participated in the demonstration called in the Catalan capital under the motto “Hi soc. Hi sound. Independence [I'm there. We're there. Independence]” (), more 17,000 than last year.

In 2025, the NCA also organized a decentralized mobilization and the total number of participants was around 41,000 people, 28,000 in Barcelona, 12,000 in Girona and 1,500 in Tortosa, although the NCA increased the estimate to 100,000 people.

The number of 2026 therefore marks a shift in upward trend, although it is far from the most intense years of the ‘procés’ and continues below the 60,000 demonstrators of 2024 and the 115,000 of 2023.

The ANC estimated more than 130,000 participants in the three mobilizations of this Day: over 100,000 in Barcelona, about 15,000 in Girona and about 13,000 in Amposta (Tarragona).

In Girona, the demonstration, with a single column, left the Plaza Catalunya and arrived in La Copa, which was small to welcome all participants.

Local authorities estimated about 11,000 participants in the independent mobilization in Girona.

About 1,600 people participated in the independent demonstration in Amposta (Tarragona), according to data from the Local Police. And in Barcelona, the demonstration was divided into two columns, one called “Present” that left the polysportive zone, and another called “Future”, which left the Lira Ampostina.

Both converged on the suspended bridge, where they hung two huge ‘stelades’ flags over the river Ebro.
