Cto start the day with a coffee or matcha is the same thing? Are there benefits between one and another drink? A nutritionist clarifies the issue.
Veena VA is a nutritionist and the Only My Health website revealed what happens when she chooses one or another drink. Coffee is that classic, either capsule or instant. Already the matcha has gradually entered the routine of many people in recent years. But are there advantages to choosing?
Matcha vs. coffee: What's the best?
“There isn't a single winner. Black coffee and matcha can be part of a healthy morning. The best choice is the one that adapts to your body, has little or no sugar and is consumed in moderate amounts” explains the nutritionist.
The expert adds that one of the major problems lies in adding some elements to these drinks. “Watch out for sugar, syrups and cream. What adds to the drink and when the drink often matters more than the drink itself. Black coffee dispenses the extras. And the matcha is also better without sweeteners.”
So there may not be a right answer and everything depends on what you like most. However, it leaves some benefits of green drink. “The matcha offers stronger protection against oxidative stress and cell damage, becoming a nutrient-rich option for your morning routine.”
How to choose between matcha and coffee
Veena VA reveals some of the questions she needs to answer in order to understand whether it is best to choose coffee or matcha. “Do you feel agitated or anxious after coffee? Try the matcha.” On the other hand, if you feel heartburn or reflux, the ideal is to switch between drinks.
“ Are your iron levels low? One study showed that iron supplementation coffee reduced iron absorption in 34 women with iron deficiency. The matcha also contains tannins, so the same precaution applies”, continues.
Drinking coffee before this meal has a strong impact on blood sugar
For many people, nothing awakens them more than a cup of coffee. But while studies indicate that coffee has important health benefits, a study says that people who drink coffee immediately after a bad night’s sleep are impairing control over blood sugar levels.
The University of Bath team in the UK reveals that a night of sleep interrupted, in which a person repeatedly wakes up, is not terribly harmful to the body. But when you try to recover with coffee it can damage your metabolism and make the body unable to tolerate sugar.
To reach this conclusion, Bath's physiologists examined 29 men and women. The results show that participants who drank coffee soon after a bad night of sleep increased the blood glucose response to breakfast by about 50 percent.
