Othe organisers of the protest, veterans of the KLA, call for the modification of the powers of the Special Court for Kosovo, the dismissal of the Minister of Justice Kosovar, Donika Gervalla, for having collaborated with the Court and financial support for the convicts.
On Wednesday, Thaci, former head of the KLA and the person who read the country's declaration of independence in 2008, sentenced him to 25 years in prison for war crimes during the 1998–99 war, and three of his collaborators, sentenced between 13 and 25 years.
The Kosovar government, led by Albin Kurti, considers the sentence unfair and that the KLA defended the people of brutal repression and crimes committed by Serbian military and police.
The lawyers of Thaci and the other convicts have announced that they will appeal the sentence.
