The news was confirmed on Monday, July 6, through a statement that was released on Instagram.

“It is with great sadness that we communicate the death of our dear Lauren”, they began by writing.

“ Our hearts are broken and we cannot express how much it meant to us. We will keep forever the love, the smile and the many memories she has given us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, we will miss her very much and love her forever”, it can still be read in the same note.

“ Rest in peace, dear Lauren. You will always be in our hearts”, they concluded. The statement was signed by the band G.R.L. and by “Em, Tash and P”.

The cause of Lauren Bennett's death has not been released, as People reports.

The British singer and songwriter began her career in the music world when she was 18. At the time she joined the female group Paradiso Girls, which was formed by Robin Antin, founder of the Pussycat Dolls. The group’s debut single was “Patron Tequila” featuring Eve and Lil’ Jon, released in 2009. The band split up shortly afterwards.

Lauren Bennett continued in the industry with her solo debut and sang the theme “Party Rock Anthem” with LMFAO in 2011, which was a huge success. He also worked with Will. i.am in the remix of “I Got It from My Mama”.

Later, the artist joined the group G.R.L. and the debut theme, “Vacation”, of 2013, was part of the soundtrack of the film “The Smurfs 2”. They then launched the first EP 2014 entitled “G.R.L.”. Among the themes of this work, “Ugly Heart” became the single most successfully.

But it's not over. That same year, in 2014, the G.R.L. were part of Pitbull’s “Wild Wild Love”.

In 2014, the band G.R.L. suffered a great loss. Simone Battle, one of the group members, died suddenly at 25.

“ We're never prepared for anything like this, ever. We had been rehearsing the day before, learning the choreography for our show, and the next day we were starting the morning normally when we got the call. I still can't believe it. I don’t think any of us can,” Lauren Bennett responded at the time by speaking openly about the death of her colleague and friend Simone Battle.

After Simone Battle's death, the group dissolved, but returned in 2016.
