Mshe was the legendary country singer Dolly Parton at the age of 80. The news was shared by his nephew, Brian Seaver, through an Instagram video.

“ My name is Brian Seaver, the son of Cassie Parton, and I am here today representing the Parton and Owens families to announce the death of my aunt, Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean,” the family member said.

“ This video ad is something Dolly asked me for years ago, before I fully assimilated it as a future reality. As her head of security for more than two decades — a role my father, Larry, exercised before me — I imagined the weight of this moment, but had not really felt it until now,” she added.

Brian pointed out that Dolly “lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, certainly received by Carl, his parents and countless others.”.

Recently, on August 21, the artist had shared updates about her state, stating that she felt a decline in her health after the death of her husband, Carl Dean, in March 2025.

“ As I've shared in video messages over the past year, I'm dealing with some health issues that I haven't given enough attention to while watching Carl.

It's not the first time I've had to deal with something like this. In the early 1980s, I was away for several months due to women's health problems and also fighting against weight at that time, so it's not like I've never had a difficult time with my health," Parton told People magazine.

“ Although I'm still recovering, I'm still working. You know me, I dreamt loud and I still have so many things that I want to do; so I will continue to work as long as I can to see it all come true”, he added.

Dolly Parton had a career of several decades full of successes. Parton is the most sold country music artist of all time, with over 160 million albums sold worldwide.

His debut album, “Hello, I’m Dolly”, was released in 1967. Dolly released successful songs such as "I Will Always Love You", "9 to 5" and "Jolene".

The artist was born in Pittman Center, Tennessee, in 1946. He had 11 brothers and his family had very humble origins. “We never went hungry, but sometimes we didn’t have enough food,” he confessed in an interview with People magazine in 1977.

Still in her childhood, at the age of six, the singer began playing viola and singing in her grandfather's church. A year later he started writing songs.
