A norwegian justice authorized the seizure of Russian real estate in Oslo, at the request of the Ukrainian energy group Naftogaz, which seeks compensation for confiscated assets in 2014, informed his lawyer.

The seizure, authorized on 22 September by the Oslo district court, concerns a property in the chic neighborhood of Frogner and four apartments in the Norwegian capital, indicated the VG diary, which gave the news.

“The seizure was made. The Russian authorities did not object,” Naftogaz’s lawyer, Aadne Martin Haga, told AFP.

The seizure is part of Naftogaz's initiatives to enforce an arbitral sentence in Norway, dated 2023, in The Hague, condemning the Russian Federation to pay USD 4.22 billion, in addition to interest, as compensation for the assets lost by the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

Naftogaz has already obtained the seizure of a Russian vessel in the Norwegian Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic.
