“ Sanhar is part of the great achievements, but this cannot make us take our feet off the ground well change the goal in half ", shot the technician of the leader of the Romanian championship, in statements to the agency Lusa.

A “sleeping giant”, Dinamo Bucharest leads the I League of that country with only one defeat, right in the first game of the season, adding, after that, 13 wins and three draws.

The goal set at the beginning of the season, however, is to ensure the clearance for European competitions, something that the club has not achieved since 2017/18, when it last competed in the Europa League.

“ The fact that we are far above what we planned must give us the comfort of believing that we can compete in each game to win and that, in the end, we will see where it will get us”, explained the former coach of Tondela and Santa Clara.

The Romanian capital club holds 18 national champion titles in its palmaret, but has not raised the trophy in 20 years.

In addition, “four years ago he was in the second division, also with problems”, and the fact that he is now leading the main echelon for the first time since 2015/16, “makes people dream”, but does not make Nuno Campos take his feet off the earth.

“ We have to be honest with ourselves. We have done an exceptional campaign, but the championship, besides being very long, is also divided in another phase, where the points are half, and at this stage everything can happen ", commented.

Despite the pragmatism, the technician’s work “has been highly praised” and, on Wednesday, received for the second time the Coach of the month prize, for October, after also having collected in August the prize awarded by Gazeta Sporturilor, a reference sports publication in Romania.

Distinctions that Paulo Fonseca’s former assistant coach, now at Sporting, shares “naturally”, with his “technical team, players and all the people who work daily” with you at Dinamo.

“Not only wins and results, but also how the team plays. The appreciation of players has been exceptional. This individual growth, based on the team’s collective growth, has made the enthusiasm around it bigger,” Lusa said.

On Friday, Dinamo Bucharest visits Arges Pitesti, a prepenultimate ranked, to try to keep at least the three points of advantage over Universitatea Craiova, a club also guided by a Portuguese coach, Filipe Coelho.

Campos already spoke “a little bit”, but “not regularly” with the compatriot who scored, for 5-1, right on the second day of the championship and explains the mastery of Portuguese technicians in a league where “there are very good coaches” with “a game style” and a “quality of natural organization in Portugal”.

“Our team organization may be a little different from other cultures. This has been the experience of Portuguese coaches around the world, because the quality we have in the country, in terms of training, is very great and we have proved, over time, that we have immense technicians at the highest level. And the results have appeared naturally ", concluded the coach of Dinamo Bucharest.
