A less than two months from the official release of Jaguar Type 01, the British manufacturer lifted part of the veil and showed the interior of the one who is the model that inaugurates his new era. The presentation is scheduled for October 6 in New York (USA).
A statement describes a central column finished in brass that runs through the entire length of the passenger compartment, in order to underline “the longitudinal nature of the design and create four individual spaces”. The driver sits in a low position, the interior shrinks in its area.
Jaguar speaks of “hidden technologies until they are needed”, also promising a passenger compartment with “hidden compartments”.
The top of the doors also appears with a brass finish, where you can find the image of a jaguar jumping. The hood and instrument panel are visually united.
The car proposes to integrate infoentertainment into the concept of the interior. There is a central ClearSight Rear View at the base of the windscreen at the same height as the exterior rear-view mirrors – which replaces the conventional rear-view mirror in a vehicle without a traditional rear-view mirror.
In the images available, you can see a narrow vertical central screen, small, in an unconventional position – as if on the console. This seems to be used to control air conditioning and multimedia functions. The driver has a large screen in front of him.
Thomas Holden, interior design director at Jaguar, explained what was meant: “Our philosophy of holistic design translates the exterior presence of the vehicle into a distinct interior architecture. In contrast to the horizontal interior design standard, we emphasize its dramatic longitudinal nature through the central column – an architectural statement that creates four individual spaces. With authentic materials, on-demand technology and fluid minimalist surfaces, Type 01 features unmistakable drama and theater that will define the modern luxury interior of the future.”.
Before the official release on October 6, Jaguar Type 01 will be displayed this week during Monterey Car Week in the United States of America in a prototype version. In this debut in North America, he will also be present at the Pebble Beach Contest.
