Imr de Sousa Real defended these ideas in his final speech in the debate on the general state budget for 2027 (OE2027) in Parliament, with warnings that his abstention at this stage, which was announced this morning, “is neither an approval nor a blank check”.
The only PAN Member considered that the OE2027 “can still be improved”, but warned that it is up to the members of the Government to “look at the opposition”.
The general abstention of the NAP, according to its single Member, is because the party “believes that dialogue can produce concrete solutions” and refuses polarisations.
“In the specialty, we will present proposals to change these priorities. Without concrete answers for people, animals and nature, we will not follow this budget in the final vote,” he said.
Therefore, Inês de Sousa Real asked the government and the parties that support him in Parliament – PSD and CDS-PP – if “is available to do different”.
According to the PAN Member, “the problem” of this budget is that it has “certain accounts but priorities exchanged”.
“Outside, people demand affordable housing, better working conditions, health and education, a more dignified life. Inside, we cannot respond with the policy of everything or nothing and not be able to dialogue ", defended.
According to Inês de Sousa Real, “the cost of people’s lives has to be in the budget”, criticizing that the OE2027 does not cut the “wrong priorities” from the perspective of the PAN, such as benefits to tauromachy, unusual residents and the fact that it continues to treat “nature as a hindrance” when it was necessary to prevent and adapt climate.
“ The bills that count are real life, they're people's. And we are for people, just as we are for a more empathetic and responsible policy, which defends animals and nature ", emphasized.
