He felt well received and therefore did not celebrate the goal: “It was very good to play for the first time in Cyprus and in a stadium of Greek matrix. I really liked the atmosphere, it was really special. I felt a lot of affection already in the warm-up and that's why I didn't celebrate my goal, for the respect I have for these people. My brother lives on the island. I liked the atmosphere very much, the way they welcomed me and it was a gesture that came from my heart.”
It's now the fourth best foreign marker in the history of Benfica. Is this special to you too? “ I didn't know that, but of course it's very special when you play in a huge club like Benfica and you can achieve accomplishments, both in the team's collective income and on an individual level. I’m very happy about it, I want to keep going like this and do my best for the club.”
What can this team get to in the Europa League? We see a Benfica who is almost like a machine in offensive terms.. “ I don't want to talk about too much. Coach asks us to stay humble and play the game. We've seen that if we lower our income like we did in the first part, we can't win like this. In the second part we understood – everyone in the locker room realized – that we had to give much more. Talking about the future is going too far and I don't want to focus on it. The focus must be on the eight games we have ahead of us at this stage, try to stay in the first eight places and then think game by game. It is the only way to achieve goals.”
